The busiest four months yet. Church passes arrived, the language list grew to 200+, Smart Hints became something each room and each listener controls, the stream learned to resume by itself, and in October the speaker got a mute button and passes that switch on their own. Here is what changed.
From July to October 2026 more changed in MulingStream than in any period before it, most of it because churches were now using it every Sunday and telling us what they needed on Monday. Here it is in order, with a short note on what each change means for your church and your guests.
Translation length (6 July). Some languages simply take more words to say the same thing, and a listener can fall further and further behind a fast speaker. Each room now has a translation length setting, from Faithful, which stays very close to the speaker's words, to settings that work like a live interpreter and keep pace. Names, numbers, scripture and quotes are always kept intact.
Room for bigger gatherings (14 July). We prepared MulingStream for much larger audiences in one room, ahead of the summer camps and conferences that used it.
Live Interpreter on Stage (15 July). Many churches already have a person on stage repeating the sermon in a second language. Switch this on, and MulingStream recognises the repeat and skips it, so listeners hear each thing once. The same release lets a speaker switch language in the middle of a talk and stop counting the silence between sentences as usage.
Membership and automatic top-up (22 July). The new pricing arrived: pay as you go or a membership, every feature included, with the option to top up credits automatically so a long service never runs dry. See pricing.
Prayer and worship (23 July). In prayer, people leave long pauses between short phrases, and a word-by-word tool turns them into nonsense. MulingStream now recognises prayer and worship in a Christian gathering, joins the fragments into the sentence that was meant, and leaves Scripture and liturgy untouched.
The site in many more languages (5 August). The MulingStream website, every page and every price, began to arrive in the languages our churches actually read.
Church passes (2 September). The biggest change of the year. A church buys prepaid passes for a service, a day or a week, and a pass is only spent when someone actually listens. Every new church starts with two free services. Read the story in Church passes are here, and why we built them in We are building something churches have never had.
200+ languages (13 September). The list a guest chooses from grew to 200+ languages. Languages we can translate but not yet speak aloud are now offered as Text only, clearly labelled, instead of being left out. See them all on the languages page.
Smart Hints you control (15 September). Smart Hints are on by default, sorted into categories. The church decides which kinds the room explains, and each listener can switch off any of them on their own phone. More in the Smart Hints post.
The 24/7 demo room, rebuilt (21 September). The demo room now plays a new talk in many languages at once, with Smart Hints, any time of day.
The Hour Pass, suggested languages and free passes (24 September). A pass for short gatherings of up to an hour. Churches can suggest up to five languages so guests find theirs at the top of the list, and the list can be searched in any language. A church that gives a testimony is thanked with free passes. On the big screen, MulingDisplay gained a Subtitles mode.
The stream resumes by itself (27 to 29 September). If the connection drops, MulingStream reconnects on its own, for the speaker and the listeners, and survives an expired sign-in. Tick Remember me and Sunday morning starts without a password. The whole story: When the wifi drops, MulingStream carries on by itself.
The International Week Pass (29 September). A whole week of gatherings with five languages or more, for international churches and conferences.
Invite a church (3 October). Invite another church with your own link under Get free passes, and both churches receive free passes. Passes also show which room they are loaded in.
Mic level, Clarity and a Microphone check (4 October). Two meters beside the controls show how strong your sound is and how clearly we catch your words. A ten-second Microphone check in each room's settings remembers your normal level and warns you when a session runs much quieter.
The site and the app in your language (12 October). The website and the app arrived in many more languages, and every language picker became one list you can search in your own words.
A voice that starts sooner (12 October). In many languages, the spoken translation now begins while the sentence is still arriving, so listeners hear it sooner.
Auto keep-up (15 October). When the speaker speeds up, MulingStream now keeps pace by itself, then returns to the room's setting when they slow down. It is on in every room, so there is nothing to switch on, and it replaced the earlier Faster delivery setting. The interpreter on stage got a smarter guard against repeats at the same time.
Choose your language before you join (17 October). The joining page now asks the guest for their language first, then lets them in, already set up. Clear help appears if the phone asks for permission.
How it works (19 October). New pages explain MulingStream from every side: how it works, for listeners, for church leaders and for sound and media.
Mute, running passes and automatic pass switching (20 October). Three changes from real Sundays. A Mute button under the record button lets the speaker silence the microphone for a song, a prayer or a word with the worship team, without stopping; listeners see that the speaker has paused, and the translation continues when they speak again. A pass that is already running can be taken out of one room and loaded into another before it ends. And if a pass ends while the service is still going, MulingStream can load the next one by itself after thirty seconds' notice, starting with one that is already running, so the translation never stops mid-sermon.
The translation never stops mid-sermon because a pass ran out.
We keep building from what churches tell us after their services. If you would like to hear about the next changes in your inbox, switch on Product Updates in your email preferences, or read what our first two newsletters said. The earlier release notes start with October to December 2025.
