In July 2026 we retired our four plans and replaced them with one simple unit: credits. Pay as you go, Membership or Membership Plus, every feature included in all three. Then churches got something made only for them: church passes.
Pricing is the first thing many people look at and the last thing anybody wants to think about. So for a while, ours asked people to think about it far too much.
Until July 2026, MulingStream had four plans: Free, Starter, Pro and Business. Each had its own monthly price, its own allowance and its own list of features. Some features lived only in the higher plans. To choose, you had to guess in advance how much you would stream, which languages you would need and which features you would miss, and then pay every month whether you streamed or not.
That is a fair way to sell software to an office. It is a poor way to sell translation to a conference that runs twice a year, a podcast that records when the guests are free, or a church whose need changes from one Sunday to the next.
The questions we kept getting were never about the price itself. They were about the shape of it.
"Which plan do we need?" "What happens if we go over?" "Do we lose what we did not use?" "Why is this feature not in our plan?" Every one of them was a sign that the pricing was doing the opposite of what pricing should do. Instead of making a decision easy, it made people stop and worry.
So on 8 July 2026 we decided to start again, from one simple idea: credits are the only unit, and every feature is included for everyone. On 22 July 2026 the new model went live.
Credits are the only unit, and every feature is included for everyone.
A credit is simply a measure of streaming. More languages at once use a little more, and that is the whole calculation. There is no separate price for a feature, no add-on to unlock and no premium tier with the good parts held back.
Everything is included, whichever way you pay: faithful translation that carries the meaning and not only the words, Smart Hints that explain the reference the speaker just made, the Context Enhancer and Keywords that help names and special terms come out right, listening and reading along, and 200+ languages that every listener chooses on their own phone.
We replaced the four plans with three options. They differ only in how you pay for credits, never in what you can do.
Pay as you go is where every account starts. There is no monthly fee and nothing to cancel. You buy credits when you need them, they never expire, and a month you do not stream costs you nothing. For anyone who runs an event a few times a year, this is usually all it takes.
Membership is for people who stream often. A monthly membership includes a bundle of credits every month and lowers the price of every credit, including any you use beyond the bundle. That last part matters: there is no sudden jump when you go over, just the same lower rate.
Membership Plus is for organisations that stream a lot: a weekly conference programme, a busy podcast, a large events calendar. It includes more credits each month, the lowest rate per credit, MulingDisplay with your own branding and priority support.
Both memberships can be paid monthly or yearly. The rule behind all three is the same: the more you commit, the less each credit costs, and nothing about the product changes. You can see the current figures on the pricing page.
The old plans charged for what you might use. Credits charge for what you actually use.
A conference organiser no longer pays a monthly fee for the eleven months between conferences. A podcast that records in bursts does not lose an allowance it never had time to spend. And nobody has to compare feature lists, because there is no feature list to compare: everyone gets all of it.
New accounts start with a free, generous trial, so anyone can see how it sounds in their own room before they buy a single credit.
Credits solved most of the problem. For churches, they did not solve all of it.
A church does not know which Sunday a guest will walk in needing Persian or Ukrainian. The only way to be ready is to have translation running at every gathering, and with credits, every gathering that runs uses credits, whether anybody listens or not. So churches did the sensible thing and switched translation on only for the Sundays they expected to need it. Which meant it was off on the Sunday nobody expected.
So we built something only for churches. Since 3 September 2026, churches pay with church passes: prepaid passes for one gathering, a whole day or a whole week, that cover everyone listening, never expire, and are only spent when somebody actually listens. A church can leave translation running every Sunday and pay nothing on the weeks nobody needed it. We told the whole story in church passes are here, and every pass is on the pricing page for churches.
Every church that signs up gets two welcome passes, so its first two services are free. A church that was already on a membership or holding credits can talk to us, and we can end the membership and turn what is left into passes.
Church passes are for churches. For everything else, credits with pay as you go, Membership and Membership Plus are exactly as they were: conferences, weddings, podcasts, events and education. Every feature is still included, credits you buy still never expire, and a month you do not stream still costs nothing.
So there are now two simple answers to "what does it cost?". If you are a church: passes, spent only when someone listens. If you are anyone else: credits, paid as you go or at a lower rate with a membership. Either way, there is nothing held back and nothing to guess.
Credits for conferences, events and podcasts, passes for churches, every feature included in both.
