What our first two newsletters told churches

This autumn we started writing to the churches that use MulingStream, in their own language, whenever enough has changed to be worth a letter. We have sent two so far, on 24 September and 6 October 2026. Here is everything they announced, in one place.

Most of what changes in MulingStream starts with a message from a church after a Sunday. A media volunteer writes that a guest could not find their language in a full room. A pastor writes that the stream stopped when the wifi blinked. We fix it, and then the church that asked deserves to hear that it is fixed, and so does every other church that had the same problem without saying so.

That is why we began a newsletter this autumn. It goes to churches with a MulingStream account, in their own language, and only when there is something worth reading. It never carries prices, because our churches live in many countries and markets. Two have gone out so far. This post gathers what both of them said, so you can read it even if you were not on the list yet.

24 September 2026: every guest finds their language faster

The first newsletter went out on 24 September 2026, in Danish, English, Dutch, Polish and Ukrainian. Several churches had told us the same thing: a guest holding an unfamiliar phone, in a full room, needs to find their language in seconds. So every change in it was about that moment.

Suggested languages. In the Languages tab of a room, a church can now suggest up to five languages it expects. Guests still choose from every language we carry: a suggestion only lifts a language to the top of their list, so it is quicker to find. It does not add a language to the room, and it costs nothing.

A joining page that offers their language first. The suggestions also shape the page a guest sees when they join. If their phone is set to another language, or to none at all, the page asks in each suggested language whether they would like to read it that way, and one tap switches it.

A language list that is quicker to search. In the guest's list, the languages already running in the room come first, then the church's suggestions, then every other language. And they can search in any language: typing Danish, Dansk or danés all finds Danish. See every language a guest can choose on the languages page.

The printable handout, in any language. The handout a church prints for the entrance or the seats can now be downloaded in any language we carry, not only the languages set for the room.

MulingDisplay speaks more languages too. On the big screen, MulingDisplay shows a joining guide that cycles through the languages the church chooses, while the QR code and the room name stay in place.

The Hour Pass. A new pass for short gatherings of up to an hour with one or two languages. Like every pass, it covers the whole gathering, for everyone listening, and it closes at the first natural pause after the hour, never in the middle of a sentence. We made it for churches on a tight budget, and for churches with many shorter gatherings besides their services. All passes are on the pricing page for churches, and the story behind them is in Church passes are here.

6 October 2026: the stream stays on, and you can see your sound

The second newsletter went out on 6 October 2026, in English, Danish, German, Dutch, French and Finnish, to churches that had switched on Product Updates in their email preferences. Most of it came from what churches told us after their services in September.

The stream no longer stops when the internet drops. If the connection on the speaking device drops for a moment, MulingStream picks up where it left off. A short countdown appears and the session resumes by itself, in the same room and with the same languages. It also keeps running if a sign-in expires in the middle of a service. We wrote a whole post about it: When the wifi drops, MulingStream carries on by itself.

See your sound while you speak. While a room is live, two meters sit beside the controls. Mic level shows how strong the sound reaching us is, and Clarity shows how clearly the words come through, with a wave underneath for the last few seconds. If the sound is too quiet or unclear, the speaker sees it at once, before the listeners notice.

A microphone check for each room. In the room settings, the Microphone check takes ten seconds: press Start and speak the way you will when you go live, through your usual microphone and sound desk. We remember how loud you normally are in that room, and warn you when a session runs much quieter.

See where every pass is. Passes now show which room each one is loaded in, and whether it is in use. Before, a pass loaded into a room no longer showed as available, and some churches thought it was gone. It stays yours until someone actually listens.

The same letter listed four smaller things that were new:

Faster delivery, a room setting that sent each line to listeners a little sooner. Since 15 October it has been replaced by Auto keep-up, which keeps pace with a fast speaker by itself, so there is nothing to switch on.

Remember me when you sign in, so the device stays signed in and Sunday morning starts without a password.

Messianic Sermon, a new kind of gathering under Christianity for Messianic congregations: Yeshua stays Yeshua, Hebrew words such as Shabbat and Torah are kept, and the Jewish feasts are recognised.

The International Week Pass, covering a whole week of gatherings with five languages or more.

And it ended with two ways a church can get free passes: invite another church, and both churches get free passes, using the link under Get free passes in the dashboard; or give a testimony, a few lines about what MulingStream has meant in your services, and we thank you with free passes.

Most of this came from the messages churches sent us after a Sunday.

How to get the next one

If your church has a MulingStream account, you can choose which emails you receive under Email Preferences in your account settings. Switch on Product Updates and the next newsletter comes to you, in your language, when there is enough to tell. You can switch it off again at any time, with one click from any newsletter.

If you want the whole story of what has changed since we started, it is in our release notes, from October to December 2025 to July to October 2026.
